Economy Command Menu

This menu is where you do most if not all of your imperial transport.  While you can build your own transports, the civilian transports are most efficient.  Each planet has three transports and they are managed through this menu.

The command menu also displays your imperial treasury as well as tax income and expenses for the upcoming turn.  There are three main information panels in this menu, a planets import/export table, an imperial economy summary, a planet detail exporting/importing table, and the planetary civilian fleet panel.

Planets Imports/Exports Table

You will notice that there is not an image in this menu, instead you will find in its place a table of planets.  This table lists the four resource commodities: alloys, crystals, food, and colonists for each of your planets.  Each planet displays either an IMP for import or an EXP for export for each resource.  IMP (import) means the planet needs more to meet its surplus level.  The EXP (export) means that the planet has more than the surplus level and can export that resource.

Detail Exporting/Importing Table

You can select a planet and its detail exporting/important data will be displayed in the lower middle of the window, above the civilian fleet information panel.  In this window you can select any one of the commodities and modify the surplus level for that planet.  For each planet you should determine the amount of each resource needed and set the surplus level.  You can do this by selecting one of the commodities and then selecting increase or decrease surplus level in the secondary command panel.  The table also shows you incoming shipments.

Civilian Transports Panel

Each planet can send out three transport ships carrying resources.  Located just below the detail exporting/importing table is the civilian transport panel.  This panel shows the status of the three civilian transports.  The panel shows the status of the transports, the destination, cargo, warp speed, and ETA.

There are three transport status, idle, standby, and on route.  The idle status means that the transport is available and has no shipment orders.  Standby means that there is a shipment pending, but the transport is still on the planet.  Both of these status means you can still change the shipment for that transport.  The last status, on route, means the transport is in space.  When a transport is in space you cannot change its shipment order.

To set up a transport destination, you need to select a planet.  Next you select one of the three civilian transports from the secondary command panel.  You then just select the cargo, destination, and maximum cargo load.  If the amount you set (default to maximum the transport can hold) is higher than the surplus, only the surplus is loaded and shipped.

Imperial Economy Summary

Just below the planets export/import list is the imperial economy summary.  In this panel, it shows you your treasury amount, your estimated tax income, your research and upkeep expenses, and your building expenses.  Use this information to budget your empire growth and spending.

Below the imperial financial data is the grand summary of population growth, alloys and crystals production rate and level, and food production rate and level.  This gives you a general idea of how much you have in the empire.  It is also useful because if you are having alloy shortages on a planet, but you have a high production rate, it is time to setup some shipments.

Secondary Command Panel

The secondary command panel allows you to change planetary surplus levels, modify the trade rates with other empires, and setup civilian transports.  The trade rates are only for empires that you have an alliance or a trade agreement with.  Neutral and hostile empires will be displayed, but you cannot modify them.
